LetMag

LetMag

This was a fun job! In 2003 LetMag was a Deutsche Post quarterly for international penpals that not only propagated the joys and wisdom of letter writing, but it was active in bringing penpals from across the globe together.

The booklet was bilingual: you could read everything in English and then turn it around and upside down and there it was in German. I composed my column in English and it was translated into German by my colleague Susanne Koppe. In the early 2000s, as the Internet became increasingly more important, the LetMag crew was fiercely dedicated to keeping letter writing alive. But just a few years later, once social networking rose in importance, it became a losing battle.
